 The 2018-2019 ARLIS/NA executive board has been busy these last few months, and I am happy to share some of the exciting Society initiatives afoot.

Registration Open: NDSR Art Capstone—Preserving Media Art & Digital Art Information

The Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) in partnership with the Philadelphia Museum of Art announces that registration for the National Digital Stewardship Residency Art Capstone: Preserving Media Art & Digital Image Information has opened. This symposium will provide a platform for the NDSR Art residents to discuss their experiences developing preservation and access strategies for GLAM assets, as well as offer perspectives from new media curators, time-based media artists, conservators, and preservationists.

ARLIS/NA Publishes Fair Use in the Visual Arts: Lesson Plans for Libraries

The Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) announces the publication of Fair Use in the Visual Arts: Lesson Plans for Librarians as an open-access e-book. The authors guide art information professionals in crafting learning experiences that empower students to understand copyright and take advantage of fair use in their art, design, and academic practices.

ARLIS/NA 2019 Distinguished Service Award Call for Nominations

The Distinguised Service Award Committee is accepting nominations for the ARLIS/NA Distinguished Service Award. This award honors an individual of any country whose exemplary service in art librarianship, visual resources curatorship, or a related field, has made an outstanding national or international contribution to art information.
