Samuel H. Kress Foundation Award for International Exchange
The Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Samuel H. Kress Foundation Conference Attendance Award for International Exchange.
Thanks to the generous support of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, this award helps fund international travel and encourages the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and professional connections among art librarians. The award supports attendance at international conferences, fostering communication and engagement with global projects and initiatives in the field of art librarianship.
Limited funds are available to support attendance at the following conferences:
-
ARLIS UK & Ireland Conference, Leeds (July 6-8, 2026)
-
ARCLIB Conference, Liverpool, (July 1-3, 2026)
-
Other eligible European art library conferences
Due to the recent confirmation of funding, the application timeline is shorter than usual. We recognize that some members may have already finalized their travel plans, but we are pleased to offer support to ARLIS/NA members attending the ARLIS UK & Ireland Conference and other eligible events this summer. Award funds may still be used as reimbursement for conference-related expenses, helping to offset the costs of participation.
The Samuel H. Kress International Travel Awards Committee will consider factors such as financial need, participation, and travel costs when determining final award amounts.
This opportunity is the first phase of a broader international exchange initiative supported by Kress Foundation. Additional funding opportunities during 2026–2027 will support European colleagues attending the ARLIS/NA Annual Conference in Portland and ARLIS/NA members participating in the 2027 IRC Study Tour.
Please submit your application https://forms.gle/QpF7guua6wRQZqs48 for this round of funding before the deadline of June 23, 2026 at midnight Eastern.
