Critical Librarianship SIG Meeting

Hello, and happy 2026! The Critical Librarianship SIG is excited to announce the date of our next meeting: February 6, 2026 at 11 am pacific/12 pm mountain/1 pm central/2 pm eastern.

The theme of this meeting will be the current state of institutional DEI initiatives. We invite attendees to share any of the following:

• Institutional mandates, implicit or explicit, that have impacted DEI initiatives at your workplace

• Connections you’ve noticed between institutional DEI initiatives and the overall political climate

• Personal and/or collective responses to any DEI rollbacks

We will kick off the conversation with a look at Moving Beyond the Acronym: Academic librarians talk about doubling down on DEI efforts and core values in an uncertain climate, from American Libraries. While this represents views from academia, we hope folks from other types of institutions will attend and share their experiences.
