Professional Bio

Leah Sherman (she/hers) is the Visual & Performing Arts Librarian at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She serves as the library liaison for all six departments within the College of Fine Arts as well as the FSU Museum of Fine Arts in Tallahassee, The Ringling Museum in Sarasota, and the FSU Master Craftsman Studio. Her responsibilities include collection development, research consultations, and instructional support across the various Fine Arts disciplines. Leah earned her MLIS at Florida State and is currently pursuing her PhD in Art History at FSU. Leah’s research interests in librarianship include increased awareness of visual literacy in instruction, digital literacy, and the impact of outreach while her work in Art History focuses on 20th century museum history and the Italian avant-garde. She is an active member of ARLIS/NA, CAA, ACRL (Arts Section and ULS) and ALA. She is the current ARLIS/NA-ACRL/Arts Section Affiliate Liaison and Past-President of the ARLIS/Southeast Chapter.
