The ability of the art information profession to thrive relies on the diversity and well-being of its workers, which begins with effective recruitment strategies. It has been widely established that transparency in specifying wages and salary ranges in job postings are essential for equitable hiring practices and that unpaid internships narrow the field of qualified candidates to those who are able to perform labor without compensation.

This report summarizes current best practices related to these and other issues that affect the demographics and organizational health of the art information profession and provides resources to encourage hiring managers and search committees to adopt practices that reflect ARLIS/NA's core values of diversity and inclusion.
