2015 Melva J. Dwyer Award

The 2015 Melva J. Dwyer Award winner is Landscape Architecture in Canada, written by Ron Williams, published in 2014 in English by the McGill-Queens University Press and in French by les Presses de l’Université de Montréal. This award was established in recognition of the contribution made to the field of art librarianship by Melva Dwyer, former head of the Fine Arts Library, University of British Columbia. It is given annually to the creators of exceptional reference or research tools relating to Canadian art and architecture. The 2015 award was presented at the convocation ceremony of the 43rd Annual Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 22, 2015.

2015 Gerd Muehsam Award

Eva Athanasiu is this year's winner of the Gerd Muehsam Award. Athanasiu received the award for her essay, "Belonging: a Brief Study on Artists' Books and Institutional Classification." Established to honor the memory of Gerd Muehsam (1913-1979), a distinguished scholar, teacher, art bibliographer, and supporter of ARLIS/NA, the Gerd Muehsam Award is given annually in recognition of excellence in a graduate student paper or project on a topic relevant to art librarianship.

2014 Distinguished Service Award

The Art Libraries Society of North America is pleased to announce Daniel Starr as the 2014 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, the twenty-fourth person who has been honored. The Distinguished Service Award honors an individual of any country whose exemplary service in art librarianship, visual resources curatorship, or a related field, has made an outstanding national or international contribution to art information.
