Report:
At the
request of the Executive committee, Space Planners Roundtable members discussed
the status of SPRT at the annual conference meeting.
Members agreed that SPRT continues to offer a valuable resource and
avenue for ARLIS/NA members. It was
also decided that it is important for the moderator (or co-moderators) of the
roundtable to stimulate a discussion before the conference so that members can
discover the variety of ongoing building projects and bring items of interest or
concern to the meeting. There was a
lively and interesting group discussion at the meeting of library projects.
We were able to share each project and talk about space planning and
design problems that members were having with their projects, their architects,
builders etc.
The SPRT web
site has been a valuable tool for the roundtable.
It was noted at the annual meeting that the web site was a good way to
show case conference sessions that would be of interest to our members.
Members agreed that the web site could also be used to share projects and
problems with others in similar circumstances and to develop a consultant’s
list. The co-moderators will do
that this year through the association listserv.
