·        Leadership Update

1.)    Outgoing Moderator, Deborah K. Ultan

·        Brief Narrative re. activities, membership, plans, etc.

1.)    Discuss/consider the idea of coordinating with the Professional Development Committee to organize a mentor program for both new and mid-career academic librarians. Questions to consider: How can we formalize this as a program? Are we carefully mentoring those who are already established and committed to the field, but could use further guidance, reinforcement, inspiration from colleagues?

2.)    Survey statistics on numbers and types of art reference questions at public reference desks. Results to be distributed at the NYC conference.

3.)    Continue to discuss the issue of maintaining the integrity and uniqueness of fine arts librarianship in light of more and more mergers with generalists.

4.)    Continue discussion of the issue if advocacy for humanities and arts resources.

5.)    Continue to discuss how we might build a network within the division that serves as a support group with contacts and mentors in specific areas of subject specialty or types of libraries.
