Leadership Update:

ARLIS/SE Elected Officers for 2002 are:

Brief Narrative:

During the Annual Conference in Los Angeles, a Chapter meeting was held during which the following was reported or discussed:  Treasurer, Kathleen List reported on the status of membership, new and renewed and the status of funds of the Chapter,  Vice President/President-Elect Roberto Ferrari reported on the plans for the conference in the Fall in Boca Raton, President Natalia Lonchyna reported on the final approval of a proposed by-law change, Webmaster Sarah McCleskey gave an update on the improvemnets of the website.  In addition,  Kim Collins and Lee Sorensen reported on a proposed agreement with Duke Archives to hold the Chapter papers as well as the Chapter’s Lo Presti Winners and Cary Wilkins, Newsletter Editor was commended for a job well done and further contributions to the newletter were encouraged.  The newsletters include accomplishments of individual members of the Southeast Chapter.  The newsletter can be viewed on the following website: http://66.7.159.176/senewsl.html .

The next Chapter event was the Annual meeting which took place in Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton on November 9-11, 2001.   The Chapter meeting was attended by 24 members and guests.  In the number are included two members of the Executive Board, Ted Goodman, ARLIS/NA President and Paul Hardin, Southeast Regional Representative.  In addition to the obligatory Business meeting, attendees were able to visit various sites in the area:  Bienes Center for the Literary Arts at the Broward County Library, Ft. Lauderdale, Museum of Art, Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale,  Mata & Arthur Jaffe Books as Aesthetic Objects Collection at the Florida Atlantic University; participants heard lectures on the Lost Synagogues of Eastern Europe and on the architect, Addison Mizner.  A demonstration of ARTbibliographies Modern was provided by a representative from the Cambridge Scientific Abstracts.  The LoPresti Award Winners were also presented.  The address of the Chapter website is as follows:  http://66.7.159.176 .
