The division co-sponsored the following

ARCHIVES
Sara MacDonald, The University of the Arts,
located former moderator Martha Hall’s files. The archives now contain
a list of past moderators and focal points. A list of session proposals
sponsored by the division over the last ten years is included as well.
BIBLIOGRAPHIC INSTRUCTION
The division retired the binder containing
bibliographic instruction materials, since the LOEX Clearinghouse for Library
Instruction offers comparable, if not precisely the same, information.

29TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN LOS ANGELES, 2001

The Accreditation of Art Libraries: Benefit
or Burden?, moderated by Paul Glassman, New York School of Interior
Design; Clayton Kirking, Parsons School of Design; and Robert Craddick,
Pacific Northwest College of Art. The proposal was accepted.

Managing Moving Image Collections in Art
Libraries, moderated by Claire Eike, The School of the Art Institute
of Chicago. The proposal was accepted.

Leadership training. Paul Glassman
agreed to invite Pat Wagner of Pattern Research in Denver and submitted
a proposal for this. The proposal was not accepted.
ARLIS/NA STRATEGIC PLAN
The following were recommended as action
items for 2000-2002 strategic plan:

Create a roster of art and design school libraries
interested in hosting interns in art librarianship (goal I.C)—in progress

Use the division Web site to provide references
and links to recommended print and electronic non-art interdisciplinary
information resources (goal I.G)--pending

Establish and maintain a roster of art and
design school members who have been, are currently, or will be involved
in the accreditation process, available on the division Web site (goal
I.E)—in progress

Encourage art and design school members to
include poster sessions at the annual conference by providing a set of
guidelines for proposals (goal II.D)--pending

Organize visits to local art and design school
libraries at conferences (goal II.D)—completed; proposal not accepted

Create a clearinghouse of shared statistics
for art and design school librarians (goal III.A). Promote the inclusion
of division members in accreditation visiting teams, such NASAD, NEASC,
SACS, MSACS, WASC, NCA, FIDER, and NAAB—in progress
