Nominating Committee members were: Marilyn Berger, Chair, Jane Carlin, Jane Devine, Milan Hughston, Karen McKenzie (Board Liaison), Ted Goodman (observer)

The Nominating Committee successfully completed its charge which was to find candidates willing to stand for office on the ARLIS/NA Executive Board for the year 2001. The winning candidates are:

 V.P./Pres. Elect……….Daniel Starr
 Secretary………………Norine Duncan
 Northeast Rep…………Laurie Whitehill Chong
 Southern Rep…………..Paula Hardin
 Midwest Rep…………...Ursula Kolmstetter

The committee did eventually name 2 strong candidates for each of the positions, but only after many potentials were contacted. Attracting leadership to the Society remains a problem, particularly for the positions of V.P./President-Elect and Secretary, and the task was very time-consuming. Several candidates approached expressed interest in standing for office at a later date because of their work responsibilities. Their names will be passed on to the next nominating committee.

I am extremely grateful to the members of my committee for their suggestions, contacts and help in putting together the final slate of candidates.

All candidates that stood for office were called and notified of the results of the election by President Karen McKenzie and all were thanked for their willingness to stand for office.

The committee handbook was updated and passed on to the incoming Nominating Committee Chair Sherman Clark.
