List of Chapter Meetings
June 23, 2000: Hyatt at Union Station, St. Louis, Missouri
Attended by 11 members and guests. Business meeting held dealt primarily with the joint VRA and ARLIS/NA conference scheduled for St. Louis in 2002. Members then toured the Hyatt Hotel, St. Louis rapid transit system and the City Museum. The following day, members visited the St. Louis Art Museum and its library.
October 13, 2000: Tulsa, Oklahoma. Philbrook Museum of Art.
Attended by approximately 12 members and guests. The program consisted of a self-guided tour of the Philbrook Museum of Art followed by a visit to the Thomas Gilcrease Museum of Art and History. Archivist Sarah Erwin gave them an overview of the Museum's Archives. Following this, members enjoyed a self-guided tour of the Museum and its extensive collection of Western Art.
Activities of the Chapter
Many of the year's activities focused on preparing for the joint Visual Resources Association and ARLIS/NA conference scheduled for St. Louis in 2002.
Recommendation to purchase luggage tags to be given out at the Los Angeles ARLIS/NA Conference to promote the meeting in St. Louis in 2002.
It was suggested that a merged database be created to establish a voting, mailing and regional directory for the Central Plains Chapter.
