43rd Annual Conference Call for Proposals

The 43rd Annual Conference, "New Frontiers on the Old Frontier", will take place in Fort Worth, Texas, March 19-23, 2015. The Fort Worth Conference Program Committee encourages fellow librarians, visual and media resource specialists, archivists, curators, museum professionals, educators, artists, designers, architects, historians, researchers, practitioners, students, and others across the horizon to submit pioneering ideas in a paper, session, or workshop format.

2013 Distinguished Service Award

Joan Benedetti is the 2013 recipient of the Society's Distinguised Service Award. The award was presented to Benedetti at the 42nd Annual Conference held in Washington, D.C., May 1-5, 2014. The Society’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award is presented to an individual of any country whose exemplary service in art librarianship, visual resources curatorship, or a related field has made an outstanding national or international contribution to art librarianship.

2013 George Wittenborn Memorial Book Award

Interaction of Color by Josef Albers (App for iPad), published by Yale University Press in 2013, was awarded the 35th Annual George Wittenborn Memorial Book Award at the Society's annual conference held in Washington, D.C., May 1-5, 2014.

2014 Members' Art Exhibition

The ARLIS/NA Members' Art Exhibition is being presented online for the first time this year. The web exhibit, showcasing member artworks, was organized by the Stimulating Creativity In Practice (SCIP) Special Interest Group (SIG). The SIG's goal is to inspire and promote the personal creative efforts of ARLIS/NA members, as well as encourage growth within the organization.
