Chinese Art Specialist

Princeton University Library seeks a Chinese Art Specialist to support development of Marquand Library’s collections on Chinese art and archaeology.
 

Responsibilities
Collection development—Help develop and manage vernacular-language collections on Chinese art and archaeology
Technical services—Assist with ordering, accessioning and cataloging Chinese-language art materials
Public services—Provide occasional assistance to faculty and students using Marquand’s Chinese-language collections
 

Qualifications
Required—Master’s degree in East Asian art or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent command of modern and classical Chinese language. Proficiency in Pinyin and Wade-Giles Romanization systems. English language fluency. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Library-related computer skills. Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Term and Appointment
This is a half-time, two-year term position with possible extensions. The successful candidate will be appointed to a Professional Specialist rank depending upon qualifications and experience.
