The Center for Curatorial Studies and Art in Contemporary Culture at Bard College, 90 miles north of New York City in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, seeks a librarian to support an active exhibition and research center dedicated to the study of art and exhibition practices.

The position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Center’s 20,000 volume research library including: collection development; acquisitions; cataloging; reference and instruction; and electronic resource development.

The successful candidate will have an ALA- accredited MLS; a second masters degree in contemporary art history, or equivalent, such as considerable gallery experience; 2-3 years experience in an academic library with art or humanities specialization. Knowledge of international contemporary art, movements, artists, and communities is vital; working knowledge of library cataloging and descriptive metadata, collection development and general information technology; has a working knowledge of archives management; is a generous and responsive public service provider; writes clearly and vividly; is a confident public speaker.
