Visual Resources Curator and Instructor in Art AppreciationThe University of Wisconsin—Stevens PointAcademic Staff—Renewable Appointment The University of Wisconsin—Steven Point Department of Art and Design is searching for a full-time Image Collection Curator and Instructor in Art Appreciation. Starting date August 26, 2008. Responsibilities include overseeing and expanding the Art Department’s collection of slides, digital images and other teaching image resources, and teaching two sections of 100-level Art Appreciation for non-Art Majors. Activities will include establishing and organizing a digital image database, organizing access and distribution of digital images, and overseeing the activities of student employees (give work assignments, maintain consistent filing standards, schedule working hours for payroll, etc.). Effective participation in Art Department governance, faculty meetings, etc. is also required. Qualifications: Either 1) MA / M. Phil. in Art History with appropriate additional database and curatorial skills, or 2) MLS with appropriate knowledge of Art History. Ability to use all computer equipment and applications for a digital image collection (especially database, but also e-mail, word-processing and some image processing).
