Seattle Art Museum's McCaw Foundation Library for Asian Art

SAM’s mission is to provide a welcoming place for people to connect with art and to consider its relationship to their lives. We are one museum in three locations: Seattle Art Museum downtown, Seattle Asian Art Museum at Volunteer Park, and the Olympic Sculpture Park on the downtown waterfront.

The Seattle Art Museum is seeking a full-time librarian to oversee the McCaw Foundation Library at the Seattle Asian Art Museum. This individual will be responsible for cataloging, reference services, collection development and acquisitions, programming, volunteer management, supervision of yearly graduate intern and other duties pertaining to this 10,000-volume library focused on the art and culture of Asia.

QUALIFICATIONS: MLIS or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited institution (or equivalent professional experience); advanced degree in art history, history, Asian studies, humanities, museology or related field preferred; proficiency with Chinese and/or Japanese; at least two years experience working in a museum, academic or art-related library.
