Annual Report (2004)
F: (732)
932-6743
Leadership Update:
The incoming Moderator is Sara J. MacDonald, University of the Arts,
Philadelphia.
Activities:
The members of the Women and Art Round Table (WomArt) met at the 2004 ARLIS/NA annual conference in New York City. WomArt uses the annual meeting time to brainstorm about possible conference proposals on the subject of women and art for the upcoming year’s conference. While the 2005 conference proposal was rejected, it is hoped that WomArt members will continue use the annual meeting to foster conference proposals for the coming year.
Moderator Sara
Harrington also suggested the construction of a Webliography of Resources on
Women and Art. This Women and Art
Webliography is to consist of scholarly print and electronic resources on women
and art. The Webliography will
begin with art history’s foundational stylistic periods and include in each
section up to twenty key annotated resources in both print and electronic
formats. Three WomArt members, Sara
Harrington, Sharon Wasserman, and Ruth Wallach, have begun work on this
Webliography, which will be presented as a work on progress at the WomArt
meeting at the annual conference.
The agenda for the 2005 Women and Art Round Table meeting will also include discussion of the development of a bibliography of core print resources on women and art, and the introduction of incoming moderator Sara J. MacDonald.
