Executive Board Activities

In accordance with my assigned Board responsibilities, attended the following meetings at the 2000 ARLIS/NA conference in Pittsburgh:

Pre- and Post Executive Board meetings; Leadership Breakfast; Cataloging Advisory Committee; Travel Committee; Collection Development Committee; Visual Resources Division; New Art Roundtable

Compiled and submitted Minutes of the annual Membership Meeting for publication in the conference proceedings

Wrote many letters of thanks to Pittsburgh conference coordinators and donors

Secured a $500 donation to the 2000 conference from first-time donor Christie’s Inc.

Attended the mid-year Board meeting in Toronto in September

As Board Liaison, communicated regularly with the chairs of the Travel Awards, Collection Development, and Cataloging Advisory Committees (2000 annual reports of Collection Development and CAC are on AWS)

Actively participated in all aspects of Board business throughout the year

Spoke with the two individuals asked to run for Northeast Regional Representative in the 2000 election, explaining the responsibilities and commitments of the office and encouraging them to run

Northeast Regional Activities

In addition to local NY Chapter meetings, attended the following meetings in the Northeast:

ARLIS/New England meeting at the Northeast Document Conservation Center and Addison Gallery of Art, Andover, Mass., June 16; ARLIS/Delaware Valley meeting at Winterthur, DE, May 1.

Sent congratulatory letters to all outgoing presidents, incoming presidents, and incoming vice-chair/chair elects of the four chapters in the NE region

Forwarded updated chapter membership lists to Lou Adrean

Sent reminders about annual reports to outgoing chapter and committee chairs

Confirmed that all four NE chapters have pledged contributions to the Welcome Party at the 2001 conference

Worked with ARLIS/NY Board on proposal for 2004 annual conference in Brooklyn or NYC

Facilitated the addition of the ARLIS/NE Membership Survey to the Chapter Success Book

Advised ARLIS/NY and ARLIS/DV chapters in support of a joint meeting

Made donations to ARLIS/WNY, ARLIS/NY, and the new ARLIS/DV travel award

The four Northeast chapters continued their strong programming and activities.  New York and New England have the largest number of members and accordingly active agendas.  Delaware Valley has a small but devoted membership base and is actively pursuing joint meetings with regional partners.   All four chapters maintain their own websites.  At this date, 2000 annual reports of New England and Delaware Valley are on AWS.
