Seven members attended the Standards Committee meeting in Los Angeles on the afternoon of March 31.  The work of past standards committees was reviewed with an eye on whether any current documents need revision.  Staffing and space standards documents will be under the committee’s scrutiny during the coming year. 

Several sessions for next year’s meeting were discussed; among them were statistics (what and how gathered), and the changing environment that may lead cooperative efforts between libraries and visual resources to provide digital images.

Members expressed a desire to meet with the VRA Data Standards Committee to learn more about their “Guide to Good Practice” document for applying the Core and CDWA when we meet in St. Louis next year.  The chair will pursue the opportunity to provide the committee’s input during the formative stages and add its approval to the final document.
